Op vrijdag 16 september 2016 heeft Fr. Ajith Fernando, bestuurslid van de NEDLA Friendship Foundation, HEBO bezocht om een update te geven over het “HEBO housing project” in Adikarigama, Sri Lanka. Hij is deze maand enkele weken in Nederland, om contact met de Nederlandse bestuurders van Stichting HAS te onderhouden en met hen diverse sponsoren te bezoeken.
Na de aftrap van het project in mei 2016 is men direct gestart met de bouwactiviteiten. De huidige stand van zaken is dat er vier nieuwe huizen in aanbouw zijn, waarvan twee bijna gereed zijn. Van de twee woningen die afgebouwd moesten worden is één huis gereed. De werkzaamheden gaan voorspoedig en volgens plan, waardoor zowel de bestuurders in Sri Lanka als in Nederland tevreden zijn met het resultaat tot nu toe. De planning is dat alle 18 huizen gereed zullen zijn in maart 2018. De sponsorgroep kan in april 2018 de officiële opening bijwonen, die dan gepland staat.
Fr. Ajith neemt een speciaal voor het project gemaakte vlag mee terug naar Sri Lanka, om deze daar bij de bouwlocatie op te hangen.

On Friday, September 16th, 2016 Fr. Ajith Fernando, member of the board of NEDLA Friendship Foundation, visited HEBO to give an update on the "Hebo housing project" in Adikarigama, Sri Lanka. This month he is in the Netherlands for afew weeks to maintain contact with the Dutch board of HAS Foundation and visit several sponsors with them.
After the launch of the project in May 2016 construction activities started immediately. The current situation is that four new houses are under construction, of which two are almost ready. Of the two houses that were under construction, one house is ready. The activities go smoothly and according to plan, so both board members in Sri Lanka and in the Netherlands are satisfied with the results so far. It is planned that all 18 houses will be completed in March 2018. The sponsoring group may attend the official opening in April 2018 which is planned than.
Fr. Ajith takes a special project flag back to Sri Lanka to hang it out at the construction site.
